learn singing in Malmö?
Here's what I've learned!
Welcome to my humble site for the Malmö people who actually adore singing, music and everything connected to it. In the past years I’ve been learning to sing from scratch (I mean, really!) and I needed to put a lot of effort into searching for schools and websites which would help me find the best vocal lessons (sånglektioner) in my area (Malmö, Sweden).
Everything that I`ve found helpful will be listed below for fellow musicians in need!

VOCAL CLASSES IN MALMÖ
Malmö Kulturskola
This is one of the most common recommendations I got from my Swedish friends and colleagues. However they only teach children of certain ages, and only if they are registered in Sweden. Even if I was a kid, there's also quite a waiting time for singing lessons since it's one of the popular activities. So, this one doesn't work for foreginers nor grown-ups.
Kurser.se, superprof.com
The first site which captured my attention was probably superprof. There's also a Swedish one called kurser.se. These sites list courses and individual teachers that may or may not have a rehearsal space and that often offer to teach at home. This might be good for some, but since I have a partner and we are both working from home, I feel it's a bit too crowded. Also, it was hard to get discipline working since classes were often cancelled, teachers travel, get sic etc. Probably good if you find a reliable person!
Rockskolan Malmö
So, this one definitely deserves your attention. With the help of vocal teachers from this school I finally dared to to sing for real. I was never that much into rock so was a bit sceptical at first, but they were super chill and flexible with any style. Good networking opporunities as it's a music school with adults learning different instruments, playing in bands and basically doing what they love. Good vibe here!
Malmö Music Academy
Musikhögskolan is definitely a good place if you are really serious. They offer university degrees in music and occationally also offer free classes for their students to be able to practice teaching. Since it's popular, not everyone gets a teacher though.
All in all, mastering vocal skills is a thorny path that is not easy to manage. However, if you find your approach and make an effort, everything will come with time. Malmö is also a great environment for the musically minded. Not least considering the following:
Mässingshornet Open Mic
This is the best place for starting out and performing. It's a really tiny and intimate pub with a super chill vibe where mistakes are more than welcome. Recommended for singer & songwriters and good times.
